VO2 Master

The VO₂ Master Pro is a portable, fully wireless metabolic analyzer that measures breath-by-breath oxygen consumption (VO₂) and minute ventilation (VE).

Lightweight and worn directly on the face, it eliminates the need for hoses, backpacks, or gas tanks, allowing unrestricted movement during both field and laboratory testing.

With the VO₂ Master, we bring the lab to the field. More importantly, it enables accurate testing in environments that truly reflect where performance matters — whether that's on the road, in the pool, or on the trail.

This is the next generation of metabolic testing: reliable, user-friendly, and cost-effective.

VO2 Master Service Kit

Annual Service Kit

To ensure continued accuracy, the VO2 Master requires an annual service independent of usage.

The simplest way to service your VO2 Master is with the Annual Service Kit — an easy-to-follow solution that allows you to perform the essential service in the comfort of your own home or office.

The kit includes a new O₂ sensor and the tools required to replace it. The process is straightforward, but critical to maintain measurement accuracy over time.

Note: Only available for analyzers purchased after September 6, 2022. If your unit was purchased before this date, please contact us at post@dukanauka.no.

Institution What Was Studied Main Finding
Western University (2025) Investigated VO₂ Master’s accuracy vs. Douglas Bag and metabolic cart. Directly addresses limitations suggested in Van Hooren’s 2023 commentary. Demonstrated excellent accuracy and strong repeatability. Older criticisms were refuted.
University of Hawaii (2024) Integrated VO₂ Master with EMG and motion sensors during motion-rich protocols. Demonstrated accurate real-time tracking and cross-system compatibility.
Sam Houston State Univ. (2024)
Published in Science & Sports
VO₂ Master Pro vs. Cosmed Quark across two visits with 8 cyclists. VO₂ and VE measured at 50%, 70%, 85% of critical power. Test-retest reliability:
VO2 = 35.1 ±10.4 vs. 35.4 ±10.2 mL/kg/min,
VE = 72.4 ±20.5 vs. 73.8 ±22.3 L/min.
No significant differences between devices and high within-device reliability.

Developed and validated the 6-Minute Incremental Step Test (6MIST) using VO₂ Master + wireless sensors in healthy adults and clinical populations. 6MIST showed R² = 0.75 correlation with CPET-derived VO2 max; portable setup successfully measured ventilatory thresholds and cardiorespiratory fitness.

Validated VO₂ Master in elite and clinical settings. Benchmarked against Vacumed simulator and tested in D1 athletes using wireless step protocol. <2% error vs. metabolic simulator. Efficient large-group testing. Introduced and validated the 6MIST protocol.
