MOXY muscle oxygen sensor in use

Real-time muscle oxygen monitoring

MOXY is a portable, non-invasive NIRS sensor that shows how your muscles utilize oxygen during exercise. By measuring muscle oxygen saturation (SmO2) and total hemoglobin (tHb) in real time, MOXY reveals what’s happening inside your body.

Use MOXY to control intensity during endurance workouts, much like you would lactate, but in real time and without blood sampling. It can also help you identify whether oxygen supply or oxygen utilization is the limiting factor in performance.

For strength training, MOXY helps you better understand recovery between sets and how different loads and techniques influence oxygen use in the working muscle.

MOXY for endurance training

Control intensity with real-time oxygen data

Muscle Oxygen Saturation (SmO2) often stabilizes during prolonged steady-state work. This makes it a valuable tool for controlling intensity around anaerobic threshold and below.

At higher intensities, MOXY gives insight into how well your muscles are able to utilize available oxygen and how far you can push before oxygen availability becomes limiting.

SmO2 is highly individual, helping you understand your own response to endurance training rather than relying only on generic zones.

MOXY for strength training

Optimize recovery, load and work per set

MOXY can help show whether your warm-up is sufficient by tracking how muscle oxygen saturation responds before the main sets begin.

During training, SmO2 can help you better understand recovery between sets and support decisions around load, repetition count and rest duration.

It is useful not only for traditional weight training, but also for climbing, Hyrox, CrossFit and other strength-based sports.
